This Privacy Policy explains how GatherlyCo (Pty) Ltd (“GatherlyCo”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our website, marketplace and related services. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

We collect information you provide directly (such as your name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, business details, payment details, profile photos, and the content of your communications on the platform). We also collect information automatically when you use GatherlyCo (such as device and browser information, IP address, and pages viewed).

• To create and manage your account.
• To facilitate quote requests, bookings, payments and reviews between customers and vendors.
• To send transactional notifications by in-app message, email, and (with your opt-in) WhatsApp.
• To improve our services and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We share limited information with other users of the platform when necessary to fulfil a transaction (for example, your name appears in a thread with a vendor you've enquired with). We share information with our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel) strictly to operate the service. When our payment system launches, we will also share limited information with our payment partner. We do not sell your personal information.

When our secure payment system launches, customer payments will be processed by our payment partner and held in a protected account until the booking is completed. GatherlyCo retains a platform commission only when funds are released to the vendor.

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information; to object to processing; and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. Contact us at privacy@gatherlyco.co.za to exercise these rights.

We protect your information with industry-standard security including encrypted connections, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

GatherlyCo is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification.
